Robot Alley

Kind of Experience: Team-based Game

Programs Used: Procreate

Roberto’s Phone & Gadget Repairs is run and owned by the Castillo family. By day, the shop is run by the father of the family, Robert Castillo, a man who repairs everyday gadgets. By night, the shop is run by his daughter, Monica Castillo, a spunky, strong willed individual who loves to tinker with robots and is never scared to put up a fight. When Monica takes over, the shop becomes a gateway into an unknown, underground world called Robot Alley, a place where people can build robots, trade parts, and battle. Robot Alley is separated into 3 different sectors: Bronze (Green), Aluminum (Yellow), and Steel (Blue). Each sector has different types of robots ready to battle and if beaten, they will give the winning fighter robot parts local to their sector. One’s journey in Robot Alley always ends at the Final Battle Arena, where people can battle their robots against each other and see who’s the strongest. Are you able to find the right combination of parts and become the best fighter in Robot Alley?

Pictured above is Mec, Monica, and the robots from the three sectors. Mec is the head robot of Robot Alley, he’s rough and tough but has a big heart. He is meant to be a roaming character, performed by someone in an exoskeleton suit. Monica Castillo is a spunky, independent woman who loves to tinker with robots. She is also meant to be a romaing character, played by a hispanic face character who is comfortable with improving on the spot. The Aluminum, Bronze, and Steel robots have parts that are meant to be interchangeable in order to give guests the opportunity to create dozens of different combinations. During game play, the guests' robots will only be seen virtually or on screens. As they're exiting the game through the gift shop, they will have the opportunity to build the robot they created during their adventure. This experience will be similar to putting together your own "Mr. Potato Head", but will be guided by Mec himself after guests scan their RFID tag.
