Kind of Experience: Dark Ride

          In Submerge: Mission to the Deep Sea guests are recruited by Astor Industries to board a submarine and be the first group of people to go to the uncharted deep sea. While this is marketed as exciting, there is a level of deceit uncovered that might lead guests to some not so friendly faces and possible impending doom. This attraction is a trackless ride system with intimate spaces, near-misses, and special maneuvers that all help to tell this story and convey the emotions behind it. 

          Zach Astor had started Astor Industries where Chief Scientist Violet Newbury was recruited to lead the Deep Sea Institute. During their research of the Inferis Trench, which was a newly formed trench near the coast of California, the scientists were finding new, never before seen creatures. These new creatures had various combinations of mutations, prehistoric features, and bioluminescent scales. The small species were found and revealed during the beginning of their research. The medium and large species were revealed to guests during their deep dive mission as they were almost forever trapped in the trench with them.

          Pictured above are the concept art drawings and 3D models of the small, medium, and large deep sea species. The drawings and character 3D models were done by me, while the environment 3D modeling around the characters was done by Jon Bryan Salvador.
